I've been boiling these horns all day and can't budge them off the scull. My custamer wants a European mount. What's the trick?

The Trick

In this case the trick will be to do a european mount on a skull you have been boiling all day. Boiling will weaken your skull and it may even fall apart. Some use the rotting method. Leave them in a plastic bag for a week or two. They will rot off. Or you will need to drill through the underside and inject preservative.
Good Luck

It can be done

I have done 3 of these. You need to watch your boil time, so you don't
damage the skull. I try get to them as soon as i can. I also have
found it helpfull to have some help in holding the skull when getting
the horn to slip off. I also use a thin blade to insert between
the horn and the core(a hack saw blade worked well). I had a
4-horned sheep a few months ago that seemed as hard as a long horn.
Hope this may help.
