Can Hair Slip Be Fixed?

Submitted by T.baker on 2/5/02. ( tbaker@porterville.k12.ca.us ) 207.213.74.229

I sent a moose cape to the tannery and they rejected it (they obviously know what they are doing). I sent it back and had them tan it anyway as I only noticed slip on the side of the neck (8x10 inch patch). I cut-n-patched that and mounted it. The hair is loose and comes out in a few places when combed now even after it has dried. Can anything be put on externally or is it doomed? I've read hair spray and also no hair spray.

Thanks,Tom.

PS
We all know it was not taken care of in the field properly but that is not the question here.

Tom, turn the head upside down and pour rubbing alcohol into the hair
against the grain. This helps before the mount is dry. Maybe it
will work in this case as well.
