Moose cape measurements

Submitted by Doug on 2/21/02. ( seibert@usol.com ) 63.64.150.154

I brought back a bull moose cape from Newfoundland. It was caped and salted by a guide, and no measurements were taken. I've sent it to the tannery for wet tanning. When I get it back and rehydrate the tanned cape, are the 2 measurements I take the same as on a deer cape (eye to nose and neck at the ears)? I'm going to sell the cape, and want to make sure the measurments I list are the correct ones...eh?
Thanks!
Doug

There's no need to rehydrate being the hide is already wet.

Just take it out of the bag and measure. From there place it in the freezer and try to sell it.
