what about the mount is the basis for dissatisfaction? Is the bear cape tanned?

Maybe

I have been told By another taxidermist that you can as long as it has not been mounted for more than one year. What he did was rehydrate it in H2O and tore it apart (so to speek). Then he finished rehydrating the cape and remounted it. His customer was very pleased. I have never had to do this so I do not know personally.
I guess see what other info is offered and use your own judgement.

This can PROBABLY be done as most bear will be tanned--but not all. If I were to take on this job I would make it very clear to the customer that I would do my best but he would assume the risk and loss if it did not work. I have done some pretty wierd stuff with success and would do this job as long as we were in agreement on the terms.- Aaron Honeycutt
