I found a pick up from a whitetail and it has the brain and skin on it. it looks like its been out there for a long time. do i need to add anything to the water when i try and boil it? is boiling the right thing to do to clean it up?

Hi Mike =)

Look to the left of the screen and click on teh little orange button. Follow that 'search link to the archives - then enter 'cleaning skulls' and you will find a lot of information there on the subject.

Do not boil tho whatever you do... Have fun in the archives, don't get lost!

I'd like to answer but

I don't understand what you are asking Mike. What about the pick up from a deer? What's that suppose to mean? Be a little more specific so I can help you.

No wonder you cannot find ther answer in the archives. What you are talking about is a raw skull of a deer. Pickup is what I use to haul it home and the DWR will take away when they find it in my Pickup as they do not allow that in Utah. You may want to check the laws i nyour state about picking up antlers attached to the skull.
