I have a bighorn sheep skull with horns. Most/all of the skin is gone, but sill some gooey stuff inside. I want to mount the horns and skull. Do I have to remove the horns? What else do I have to do? I am clueless. I just want to keep the darn thing in the house. :)

Put the skull in a large black plastic bag and set it in a warm place you won't mind maggots and putrid smells from. After about 2 weeks, open the bag (Use plastic or surgical gloves BTW) and the horns will slide off of their cores. Wash them out and pour borax down inside for a few days before dumping it. On the skull, cut the cores so that only about 3 inches of it is left. Place the skull in a bucket of water and let it set for a week or so before washing it off with a hose and replacing the water. Repeat this cycle for about 4 to 6 weeks and your skull should be clean. Use 40% peroxide to paint the skull. Leave for about an hour and wash off. Let dry. With a good epoxy, glue your horns back on the cores.
Now, this must be the 10th or 100th time this information has been supplied on this site. You COULD have read it all had you just clicked that orange icon to the left and typed "European Mount" in the little white block. But it's Sunday and I felt a pang of niceness engulf me. Don't push your luck next time. LOL.
i think we just witnessed something dang close to a miracle. lol, George, you ok?
George, thank you for that info. I would have clicked the icon and looked up European Mount, but I have no idea what that is. now assume it is a process that I will need to do. (This is going to be disgusting) Thanks again George! :)
Bighorn sheep horns arent legal to just pick up and keep, Im assuming you aquired them somehow, and didnt shoot this animal yourself. Just checking, dont be offended.
