African Mounts

A cliant just gave me 4 African shoulder mounts to do. They are : Oryx, Blue wildebeaste, Kudu, and a Impala. He told me that they were already fleshed and tanned in Africa.

My question is what kind of tan is it? I have them here at my shop but im not sure. They still have alot of salt on them so im thinking they may not even be tanned. How do they normally come from Africa?

any insite would helpful,

Hair on leather should be just that hair on leather.

Have salt in them sound to me like you hunter dont have any idea what they have.

Did he bring these to you or how did you get them?

If he brought them to you, then I will bet they were turned down by another taxidermist, someone somewhere had to receive these and there should be documents.

just salted-need to be tanned

most things that come from africa are just salted and have some chemical on them in the form of a white powder, if I was you I would get the documents for the stuff, and send them off to a tannery.
