Equipment for shoulder mounts

Submitted by Donnie on 02/07/2003. ( ddrgolf03@yahoo.com ) 209.17.75.51

I am getting ready to do a few squirrel and rabbit mounts and when i feel ready, try my hand at a coyote shoulder mount. I was wondering if someone would be willing to list the best needle to use on all the above, and what kind of pins are the best when tucking lips, tear ducts etc...
I am planning on using krowtann for the hides and Epo-Grip hide adhesive. Any further instruction/advice would be very greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Donnie

First off neddle size doesn't matter. I use a small curve neddle for all my work. I even sew elk with the same small neddle I use on birds. So use what you like.
If you plan on using pins which you shouldn't need since your using Epo-Grip, use insect pins. They leave a small hole and you can cover them up nicely by rubbing a blunt edge over the hole.

Have plenty of reference on hand to study and take your time.
