I have been doing bird taxidermy for about 6 years and although I've only mounted about 75 to 85 game birds and waterfowl the taxidermy bug has really hit me. I learned birds from books and videos and really want to start doing some big game heads. But the problem with game heads it's much harder to get heads to practice on and if you mess them up your out alot more than a funny looking bird. So I'am thinking about going to a work shop on big game heads, hoping it will take alot of guess work when I do the first few. Can anyone of you recommed anyone in the northern midwest. I only have a week or so that I can get away from my job (unfortunatly I have to have one of them). Thanks for any help

I believe Dan Rinehart has an ad in the Van Dykes catalog about his school, so call Van Dykes for info.1-800-843-3320
Have you checked to see if your state convention might be having a seminar on big game heads? It would be a lot cheaper, you'd meet some of the people already doing it who might have some good advise, and you wouldn't have to use your whole vacation time. Just a thought. Jeff-
