Skull plate

Ron, I did make a mold of a sheep skull plate once in order to save the skull and mount the horn covers. It had an additional benefit of removing a lot of horn bone from the temptation of those hungry flying critters that are so attracted to sheep horns.I used damp sand to set up an open mold to reproduce the first few inches of horn core and the top of the skull. I then poured in bondo which I immediatly pushed pieces of wire into for strength. It took me 2 pours and some extra sculpting to complete the new skull plate which was quite strong. Having the skull for a reference was very helpful in getting it right. I bonded the horn covers onto the plate with more bondo, checked measurements and let set. Worked very well. Enjoy, Aaron H.
