Antelope horn modifications

OK, I've spent several hours looking through the archive and can't find anything on this subject (If you found it in there, let me know what your search was). I have a set of antelope horns that I'd like to modify. I'd like to add several inches to the bases so the horns are longer. I assume this project will require the use of epoxy sculpt, but how do you match the texture and color? Thank you in advance!

First off you'll have to make a cast of the horn. Just maybe 4" or so. You cab use latex or silicone to make a mold. From there you'll have to make a set upi so that you can place the horn at the hight you want, mix up some sulpt-all and place this around the horn to the hight you want. Now take the mold you made and give the sulpt-all time to set up a bit, wet the mold with some laquer thinner and place the mold over the suplt-all and press in the mold into the sulpt-all. This will leave you the impression of the horns. From there you can paint them black with some red added to it, so it matches up with the horn color. you can also paint the horns with it too. Or take some dry pigments and mix it into the scuplt-all.

You can more info on this in Taxidermy Today. Carter did an antler just by wire and using the mold from the oppisite side. Not sure what issue but call them, its an recent one.
