Anyone with advice on the best or proven way to construct a bug (dermestid beatle) box to prepare skulls? I have never used bugs and need help before the bug shipment arrives.
Thanks, Tom

Sounds as though you already have them incoming? At the vary least - get an aquarium with a sliding herptile screen lid. It has a mesh fine enough to keep the moths contained once they pupate where the galvanized 1/4 inch hardware cloth tops do not. The key to any enclosure is to make sure that the lid is tight fitting, fine meshed, and well ventilated. You need to make sure they do not escape as they can cause you no end of annoyances (getting into clothes, food and any taxi mounts you have). Monitoring humidity is also key. I prefer screen topped enclosures to plexi glass ones as it is easy to place something over the screen to allow for varying levels of closure. Pre fab plexi ones generally have set sizes of openings converred with screens - but if that opening is too small; humidity can get too high and disease may result wiping out your colony.
Did you try checking with www.skulltaxidermy.com, www.nebraskascientific.com, or Carolina Biological Supply (800-334-5551)? Think they have kits/instructions.
