I just finished fleshing 3 antelope skins. 2 were taken during the rut in September, and one in the rifle season in November. All were mature animals. The rifle kill had barely any gland to remove at all. Believe me, I thinned it down, and there was virtually no gland to be removed. Is this common or normal, during this time of year, or was this a strange variation within the pronghorn gene pool? Thanks for your reply in advance.....

If you look in the archives, you'll see I noted similar findings and was told I wasn't (a) looking in the right place or (b)not going deeply enough. Well, when daylight started shining through, I quit and I've had the mount nearly 20 years and it still hasn't lost hair or given off any odors, so you guess is as good as mine. Maybe we had queer speedgoats.
