question on texas longhorn, not in archives

Had this question for a long time, maybe someone can explain it to me. Why is it that 95% of the texas longhorns i see for sale on ebay or anywhere else are from a cow skull with the horns screwed on and covered with rope to hide the screws. They look so cheap and crappy. Where or where are all the skulls from the bulls that these horns came from. Why don't they just use the bulls skulls and quit this insult to skull work. I just came across a bunch of those screwed on jobs on ebay and i couldn't take it anymore and had to get an answer so i can forget about it and put it to rest. Any one ever wonder about that too. Please fill me in. Thanks alot. Skullery.....Jeff.....<><

I suspect most come from Mexico

Though there are high quality mounts available, most are like you see there and are found at roadside stands for from $20 to $50. Some actually ARE on weathered skulls, but even they have those cheap iron nails and hemp rope to hide the gap. If you're looking for quality horns and horn mounts, you have to go across the border or visit quality shops along the Texas/Arizona/NewMexico border. Forget Tijuanna (for obvious reasons. LMAO)
