4-horn

Submitted by Troy on 04/01/2003. ( ) 63.189.17.81

Does anyone know how to clean the wool on a 4-horn sheep. It is supposed to be black and white but the sun and dirt has turned it brown and yellow. It is also very matted. Is there anything I can do to clean it up. Thanks

Mounted?

If it is already mounted good luck. If you are talking about the cape, send it to a tannery. The last wooly sheep I did I sent to New Method. They did a good job. Many tanneries won't even touch them.

Thanks

You're right. I did try getting it tanned. No luck, so I mounted it. I've got a few ideas though. Well thanks for the response.

Shampoo

I mounted one and after I mounted it I shampooed the heck out of it! That seemed to get it pretty clean. Then I take a dog brush (the ones with a million little metal bristles) and brush the heck out of it. Now the wool is well groomed which isn't very natural. If you want it more natural take an air compressor and blow the wool. If you don't like the results go back and rebrush.
