Zebra Pedestal Mount

The hyde is fitting great, but what does one do with all the loose skin up under the chin/neck area?

Cut it out and sew or make wrinkles.

I have had judges mark off for the wrinkles, simply because they dont know Equine. Most Equine have a lot of loose skin in that area, enough so that I can pull up two handfulls on a live animal. Remember they don have large ear butts, the muscle group under the ear canal in only about 1/4 thick. Equine ears have most of the muscle group on top of the ears and use them for communication to the rest of the herd. Pinned back, open to the front is agressive. they can pin them back and open them to the rear when listening to things behind them. Open and forward is curious and alert.
Good luck

May have to alter the form

You may have to alter the form some. Animals are like people. Just because two guys are both 6 feet tall doesn't mean they can wear the same clothes! Could be your zebra had a thicker neck/jaw junction...especially if it is a male. Our (horse) stallions have 'beefed up' jaws, especially in the mature males.

I had the same problem with a zebra shoulder mount, although the skin wasn't too terribly loose in that area. It was a female zebra. I made some soft wrinkles there. The judge (Vic Heinegar...sorry, probably spelled the last name wrong!) said he wished more people would incorporate those soft wrinkles instead of trying to flatten them out. He said they are found naturally on the animlas, and he is certainly right. As always, use reference. We have a donkey that I used for 'live' reference. They have similar features.

Good luck!

thanks John & Vicki
