Gator, a jacobs ram is a ram with four horns, so if your ram only has 2 horns, then it probably wont score high. I have taken several exotics and I'm also an official scorer for the records of exotics. The way you measure a four horn ram is as followed:
Top Horns:
1. Length of horns (dont add them)
2. circumference at bases(dont add them)
3. circumference at 1/2 of length (dont add them)
Bottom horns: Follow the same steps as you did for the top horns
Then what you do is add the measurements from the two left horns and
add the measurements from the two right horns. After you add those together, you take the left side measurement and the right side measurement and add them together, you should end up with one final measurement. Your ram must meet these following measurments to make the record book:
bronze class: 70-94 7/8"
silver class: 95-119 7/8"
gold class(world class ram): 120+" and over
If you cant figure this out and need some more help you can contact the records of exotics at:

I hope this helps you, good hunting, and I hope your ram scores well.
thank you for telling me how to score my ram.I did every thing you said (except measuring the bottom horns) and i got a total of 87 7/16. So i guess I got a bronze metal ram.Once again thanks alot. One more thing how do i go about getting a metal for this?
I sure am glad that you were able to understand the directions, I was trying to explain it the best that I could, lol. If your ram only has 2 horns and it scores 87 7/16, then it truly is a monster like you previously stated, and congrats on taking him. As far as getting a plaque for harvesting that ram, you can call the number or write to the address that I listed in the last post. This is the main headquarters of texas for the records of exotics. I think a plaque cost between $30-$40, there really nice and they put your name and other varies info. on them. They might also require you to submit a photo and an official score sheet (which they will send you)
If you have any other questions feel free to post them, or call the number that I listed. Well I hope that this helps, and I hope that you get him in the record book. Once again congrats, and take care.
i killed a corisican the guy told me was silver and the over all measurements a+b=88 4/8 did was i misinformed or is the measurment system slighty different for corsicans and texas dalls the (basic sheep)
The corsican, texas dahl, black hawaiian, painted desert, and merino rams are all measured the same way. They are measured the exact same way as you would do on a four horn (jacobs) ram, the only exception is that a four horns has, well four horns, where as a corsican only has 2. The corsican rams and the varies other rams that I listed in the first sentence, will have three different measurments per side. Which include:
length of horn
circumference at base
and circumference at the 1/2 way point of the horn
then you add the right side measurements, and then you add the left side measurments. After you add the 3 measurements per side you should come up with one number per side. Then you take the right side total measurment and the left side total measurement and add those two measurements together which should give you one final measurement. This is the exact same way you would measure a four horn ram. The minimum score to get in the books is 80. And if your ram scored 88 4/8 then it makes the silver class for the book. I hope this helps, I tried to explain it as good and as clearly as I could lol. If you have any more questions, post them, I'll try to answer them. Good hunting YA"LL.
just making sure i wasent ripped off he he i guess i need to send in to get in the books i already got a score sheet to send in with all the measurements , hell i already spent way over 500 on this sheep might as well get in the book lol
