McKenzie forms

I ordered some McKenzie mule deer forms and was wondering if anyone else thought it is necessary to build up the nose bridge to make them more accurate. I have used Joe Coombs in the past and it seems like the nose bridge was built up more. I don't have a Coombs form on hand to compare. Just wondering if anyone could give me there opinion.

Thank you

They are both accurate

Both forms can be accurate, and look different. Every deer is different. If you know what the deer looked like, you can pick a form that most favors it's features. I would also like to recommend Bill Lancaster's forms, the next time you get a chance. They are awesome!

Thanks Dan, I guess you are right. Every deer is going to be different. I will check out Lancasters forms also.

Roman Nose

i`m a full time taxidermist in the mtns. of colorado and get in lots of mule deer. i use McKenzie, Jonas, Van Dykes and research forms for all my mule deer. on all the bigger deer that i mount i rebuild the roman noses on all of them when i`m modeling up the face. i usually write down on their ticket when they bring them in if they have a roman nose or not. alot of times you can tell if it needs to be rebuilt by how the skin fits during a prefit. theu customers really like them when they pick them up with a rebuilt roman nose on them. it doesn`t take much extra time to rebuild the roman nose when i`m modeling up the face. i also charge 450 for my deer mounts.
