BISON HORNS

Submitted by DL on 07/10/2003. ( ) 204.77.166.65

When attaching the horn caps to the form do you actually push the caps all the way against the form or back off a certain amount. This is one dimension I failed to document when I was doing the caping. I was considering fastening the caps prior to the mounting process.
Thanks in advance.

Bison Horns

I normally take a horn base to horn base measurement prior to skinning. If I didn't cape out the animal , I will take that measurement from the cape. Usually the horn bases will be right next to the form, but that does vary somewhat from supplier to supplier. And I always attach the horns prior to mounting.
