Paint Schedule For A Boars Nose?

Submitted by David on 08/06/2003. ( ) 4.63.117.206

Hello to all

When I received my Breakthrough Magazine today I noticed the NEW JOE COOMBS BOAR MANNIKINS. With these mannikins it also shows one of the mounts that he had done. Well, I was just wondering what would be a good paint schedule to paint the outside of a Boars nose? Or to even make it look like Joe's Boar?

Match your paint to the hogs coloration.

Hogs being mostley feral around the USA require you to match thier individual colorations. After several generations in the wild they tend to revert back toward the wild side. but yet remain like humans simply put they have individual colors.

Well John

Since it was Joes boar that you were so impressed with, then why don't you get a hold of Joe. He sells other references at his site and may be willing to help you out. His site is http://www.joecoombs.com/cgi-bin/JoeCoombs.storefront/3f31135806fdc202273fd0e764650678/Catalog Might be worth a try. Good luck. Peace- Jeff F.

thank you!

On a repro nose try flesh on the front of the pad, heavy on the bottom fading toward the top, bass belly white med. heavy on the top, fading toward the middle of the pad. Use a 50/50 mixture of dark brown and black, spray lighter on the top & bottom, heavier toward the middle and edges of the pad to match your reference
