You can always cast one from the carcus.
Mike,
Its called a Pere Davids Deer Don Holt has one of the best forms for that, I beleive he sold them to Van Dykes give them a call.
Hope this helps.
Have had them for years. Also check Precision Mannikins. Brent, you don't USUALLY cast a shoulder form the size of a red deer and Mike, CHARGE FOR IT. To shoot one of these fairly rare critters is BIG MONEY, so don't accept anyone who has one with poor mouthing about taxidermy expenses.
But it is listed as Peary's Caribou. I believe they are at least
similar if not the same. I would also check Jonas.
This has been discussed here before so there might be something of help for you there.
Is not the same. I did a search in google. sorry for the bad info.
Noonkester has a pere-david deer form on page #69 and has reference materal, and a nose cast.I mounted one a few years ago and used a precision form.they are a differant looking deer.good reference makes a good mount.
I have live Pere David Pics if you want them Mike. They are an unusual deer and the only living deer are farmed. There are no wild Pere David deer left in the world. All the deer no matter where they are in the world can trace their lineage back to the Duke of Bedford, and Wobbern Abby in England. I won't go into a long story here, but I have some good pics. .
I've mounted maybe 12 moose and every company I buy a form from has a poorly formed nose. Who makes the best moose forms?
I have a set of pere davids antlers on skullcap from an older buck exhibiting ten points per side...the animal was mounted with synthetic antlers and these beauties are to be sold....I am not the taxidermist and this trophy is in perfect condition
