Skinned out my first hoof today and wanted to know if I went far enough down.
I skinned down as far as I could...(to the hardness of the hoof)....and then cut there. There is about 1/4 of an inch of bone still attached (or cartilage or whatever it is) to the hoof. I simply could not get the skin down any further. I got it far enough down to pack with clay and attach to form.
Did I go down far enough or do I need to get rid of every little piece of bone?
Thanks ahead of time!

If you went to the last nuckel on each toe, you went far enough. If not it'll slip.
