I am mounting my first kudu pedestal mount and the guy wants it on a round column about 30-36" high. I haven't used a round pedestal before and don't know how to brace it or secure it to the pedestal. I'm not a beginning taxidermist, just a beginning pedestalist!

Research Manninkins Detachable Antler Kit. Page 246...Item # S-397...the 5/8 size. Do not go any smaller. Use only one kit per mount. Start by drilling a 3/4" hole in the bottom of the Kudu form
at the brisket, this is where the attachment of the form to the pedestal base surface occurs. Screw the kit screw into the wood base and align the square iron sleeve inside the form and make sure they fit together. Tape off the end of the square stock so that no bondo can inside and permanently adhere the two iron pieces together.
Next mix up some Bondo and fill up the form hole cavity and then slip the form over the screw and sleeve at the same time. Hold the form with eyes level until it hardens. Wallah........... OR.....order the Jonas Series # 3-7623 which will already have a pedestal mounting device already attached. OR order the McKenzie (really precision catalog) GK192P or the GK251P which already have the mounting bolts attached and ready to go. OR order the Van Dykes....BJ-01328710 which also has the attachments already in place.
