I was in my shop today with my good friend and teacher. We were mouting three whitetails. We got looking at the caribou I mounted last week. He was noticing and got me looking at the arm pit hair position on the mount. He thought that the hair was to much up the side of the leg and now I do to. But there was no other way to do it its the way it fit the form short of cuting the skin to get it smaller to fit the area. Then of course the topic turned to the deer we were doing. I think the brisket hair should only come to the position where the form is rounded he disagrees but was suportive as the mounts I do look great. I guess I am looking for some sort of opinions on this and also what kind of reference can one get for this area of the deer or game heads. Thanks Jack

they are never the same, like whitetail ears, no two are alike. I have seen the brisket hair go over half way up the neck and others just tp the bottom of the brisket. The impoerant thing is to line up the armpits and place them where they should be, then let the rest of that brisket be adjusted.
The big mistake many make is pulling the cape off the form, yu should work the hide up the deers neck and stack as much hide on the form as you can properly.
Thanks for the responce. Thats pretty much what Clark said. I guess I needed to hear it from some one else to.
