I am interested in starting a hobby of rasing beetles to clean skulls for the local Taxidermists. Any information on how to get started would be greatly appreciated.

Start by searching the archives here - look up all the info on "dermestid beetles". Myself, Taxidermologist/PA and others have detailed many useful techniques and practices. Somewhere in those archives you will also find info from someone who was emailing out an information package on the subject as well as selling enclosures and livestock.

As I posted earlier this week (search the archives for URL) Carolina supply is the best plase to get beetles. Dont get fooled into buying from taxidermists etc. They will also send you a book on cleaning skeletons and raising your colonies.
