I have a spreadsheet setup to help me calculate prices. I have different cost categories running down the left side of the spreadsheet and species running across the top. I take into account the following: fleshing hours, tanning hours, form prep hours, mounting hours, and finishing hours. I multiple the total hours by a set hourly amount. In order to come up with the hourly amount, I figure out the household and utilities expenses for the year and divide that by the amount of hours we will average each year in the studio. Next I list the material costs: form, eyes, jaw set, clay, bondo, hide paste, tanning, hanger and other misc items. (To get most of these costs, I look through different catalogs and use the most expensive eyes, form, etc for that particular animal.) All of this added together gives me the mount cost.
Hope this helps you.
