I have only done a couple of boars and they have been open mouth with artificial tusks. My latest customer isn't picky about OM or CM but would like me to use the real tusks. (They are no where near the size of the fakes.) What is the best way to go about this? I'm sure CM would be easier and I know the kid's mother would prefer it.Thank you.

A close mouth boar mount would be easiest for you to do. Because all your gonna use is the tusk. All you need to do is seperate the top and bottom jaw from the pigs head. When you are done doing this put the two into a plastic bag with holes in it. Making sure flies can get to it so they can lay their eggs. In two weeks the tusk will be able to seperate from the jaws because of the maggots. Finally, all you need to do is cut off the access tusk- what your not going to use and apoxie it into your mannikin. Hope this helps! boil the skull about 1-11/2 hours, then the tusks will pop out from the skull (fastest end less odor than rotting)
put skull in the water when is cold.
