Al, Never tried what has been suggested to you but it sounds plausable. I know they also sell an antler repair kit in some of the supply catalogs. I've never tried that either, but check it out and if you use it, let me know. I'm sure I'll eventually have the same delemma.

Low and behold... The day after I inputted on your question I got a set of antlers with several broken points. I cut point from other lesser antlers laying around and made them match up to the size of the antlers to be repaired. I cut the break straight with a dremmel and drilled out and hollowed both the new piece and the antler to be fixed. The I cut a piece of wire clothes hanger and stuffed the two cavities with epoxy sculpt and stuck the wire in adn pushed them together. The held together with just the tackiness of the epoxy. When the epoxy dried I dremmeled and hand sanded down and refilled any crack left, again with epoxy sculpt. When that epoxy dried I repeated the sanding and then stained with that two part laquer based stain from Research and it looks 100% real!
