Ear liners

When using ear liners for deer,do you have to take out the catilage to use them.

That is very well covered in those books.

Most earliners require you to remove the cartilage, however, I believe McKenzie sells a liner that is used with the cartilage still in the ear. I think that they require a special adhesive as well.
