tanning a buffalo

I live in colorado and am going buffalo hunting soon. I am looking for a direct tanner to process the rug but am having little luck. can i get some help?

.....Are wholesale only, unless you are an established taxidermist they won't deal with you. They do this for several reasons. First, by dealing with the taxidermsts they can usually be assured that the hides have been properly fleshed and salted. Second, they count on the taxidermist to use them year after year, by dealing directly with the public they would be cutting the taxidermist out of the loop. Soon the would loose the taxidermist's business and be out of business themselves.

Contact the taxidermists in your area and arrange to have it taken care of properly.

I'd give Mid-Kansas Tanning a call. They are located in Dodge City, KS. It's really not too far from the CO border. Their work is first rate. Art, the owner, has done buffalo for me, and some of my hunting buddies.(620)225-4120
