How similiar are Dall and Stone sheep horns? Can I use a set of Dall horns on a Stone sheep cape? All comments welcome. Thanks.

I mounted a lot of Rams and Goats people called ram! What it sounds like you have there is a goat they call dall, Stone, and even Rocky Mountain. Unless you shot that thing from the top of a mountain somewhere the horns will look the same. If you shot a true to life mountain ram the horns will be massive and the animal will be very heavy and muscular. But the horns still will have the same basic stucture and color for the most part. Thats my opinion!

dall's horns are generally lighter in color and sometime different in the curve shape.
my opinion is: mount dall horn whit dall cape and stone whit stone, these haren't deer but very precious trophy animals.
maybe you can mount the cape whit a reply set of horns and wait for a dall cape.

Please don't think I am digging at you but I shoot 1 B&C Whitetail trophy and never another. For me that B&C was so important that when my hunting camp was in the process of burning down I rescued it and was seriously injured! I would do it again today no regrets! Just goes to show you one mans garbage is another mans treasure.
