Hello all. I am currently working on my first elk. I did not have alot of reference to go on. Could you please look at the link below and tell me if the eye is right. The elk is still wet, so i can make changes to it. Any help is greatly appreciated. And remember, it is not finished, nor painted, etc...
Thank you,
Sheila

If you dont have elk photos, use deer photos.
Basiclly there are some things that need to be adjusted, eyelashs, Shape of eye, front corner of eye details.
Make it look like a deer and it will be closer.
E-mail me I have a photo of a live wild bull Elk, maybe it will show you somethings.
If you can enlarge it with your computer for more details.
At the rear corner of the eye, I can still see some white skin, so that needs to be tucked in. Also the front corner needs to be tucked more. Then the eyelashes need to be tipped down to a 45 degree angle. You really need to look at a closeup reference photo ASAP.
or TAXICHAT instead of the little chat on a private owened web page.
cut and paste the complete link below and it will pull a head shot of a bull elk up, yes its standing its alive and photographed by me, you may print it off or order a copy online. I dont get any money for the ordered photo.

The OKTA is having a State Gamehead Mounting Championship, January 24th in OKC. This would be an excellent opportunity for you to see some of the states best taxidermists mounting high quality mounts first hand. Who knows, someone might bring an elk. Go to: www.geocities.com/kennethbauman/OKTA/html for more information. Remember, if you are an OKTA member, it is absolutely free for you to attend, walk around and witness numerous taxidermists mounting various gameheads. In April, they will be hosting an all-day workshop with Stefan Savides on waterfowl mounting. Again, absolutely free to their membership. As I told you before, there is no better way to learn, than joining and participating in your state organization. Anyone may join and attend these events.
Here come's a dumb computer question. Why can I not seem to get any of these liknk's that peopel post for picture's to work? I type in the complete address and yahoo tells me that there is no such add. What am I missing. The boat probably lol...
It works for me, but then I am a member. Go to the chat button here and go to taxi-chat and get hooked up.
All the photos I have posted there are my own personal collection, you are welcome to print them off if they will help.
