i have a caribou rack that wont take stain. the stain soaked into some parts but other parts are almost like porcelain. i have stained caribou antlers before using antler stain (Van Dykes) and minwax woodstain that turned out great. the rack is several years old and had the velvet stripped off when taken. i tried cleaning with ketone but that didn't work. any ideas?

Todd, there is plenty of info in the archives on staining antlers. I just fininshed a set of caribou and moose horns with info I found in the archives and they turned out great! Take a look, I'm sure you will find the answer to your question.
