I am mounting a upright wall mount whitetail,I have altered the head in a position where the animal is looking down at the floor at a fairly sharp angle,My question is,when setting the eyes are the pupils supposed too be paralell with the floor regardless of how sharp the angle of the head looking down? this is for a show that will be judged any help would be great thanks......

when looking down they are paralell, only time they are not is when looking up.
they can look anyway they want but generally this is the case because when they are eating they can be on the look out for danger (by having them paralell).
When someone is mounting a piece and needs help, I kind of expect this type of question. But when someone is competing, shouldnt you know this stuff, before competing with it? When we compete, we choose something we know about. If we want to expand, we research it first, master it, then compete. This is not meant to sound snotty, etc. Also, with the amount of description you gave, its still a guess as to what you are actually trying to achieve, so suggestions are sketchy at best. If you know someone with a goat, thats a great reference point, as the iris is light colored and the pupil very vissible. Plus, goats dont mind you bending them into deer poses. Good luck at your show!
So Bill....have you done alot of goat bending?
