I am doing my first muley head mount and I used liqua-tan let it sit for 2 days and then rehydrated it then tumbled it and noticed fair amount of hair has sliped out. Is this normal or could the cape be spoiled?

What did you do to the capes prior to putting L-T on them?
Why did you rehydrate it for? If you read the directions it says wait 5 days before you do any kind of rehydating. Sounds like you did a half a$$ job by not folllowing proper procedure.
