I just finished my first pedistal skull mount and thanks to you guys and the forums it turned out great. It is for a friend of mine and i used the strong peroxide and paste from Van Dykes to bleach it. I was wondering if there is anything I need to put on it to sterilize it some. This guy has kids and im sure they will have their hands all over it. Thanks in advance for any responces.

The peroxide does the sterilizing. If you know that his kids are going to handle the skull(they shouldn't) then make sure you seal it real good so that they don't stain it with their grubby little hands.

kevin, no need to be impatient....

Anytime you want an answer go to the orange search button to the left, and you will have imediate answers. No there is no need to sterilize a european mount. It is the same stuff women put in their hair to bleach it. I assumed you rinsed it off, otherwise some people seal it with some type of sealer or even white/clear paint but that is not critical. It is like a piece of art, and i hope his children wouldnot handle art. But just rinsing it off a little you will be just fine.

I am sorry for being impatient. You guys have taught me a lot and I shouldn't abuse that. I kinda felt bad after I did it. Don't want to offend anyone in this forum. (just hungry for info!)
Again my apologies!
