Strechin Boar capes

What is the best way to get strech out of tanned boar capes? I have no problems with deer, elk or other animals, but cannot get any strech out of boars.

Tony, i've only mounted one boar so far, and my experience was no stretch. Their hide is much different than a deer or elk etc. Hope this helps. Travis

That's a long stretch of road

I've done many a hog and I can tell you that hogs are just as stubbord dead as they are alive. The hide where the armor plating once was (even if you have thinned it out) just can't hardly be stretched anything worth mentioning. Put it on the mannikin that fit it it's natural size. Something you should do with any mount anyway right?

Tanning Matters

I have my boars tanned by the Wildlife Gallery they come out better than any other tan I have used or seen on boars. They do not stretch much as is the case with all boars. Most likely because of the armor shield. But the rest of the cape is as soft and as thinly shaven as possible. And no memory. Meaning the skin will stay where you put it. with proper hide paste. Hope this helps. I know the sows have no thick armor shield and are softer capes.
