Stupid question

OK, I have yet another of my endless dumb questions. I have seen many male pronghorns, and a few females. A few months ago a guy brought in a female with small bumps of horn growth. Since that is all I have ever seen on a female, I figured that was as big as the female's horns grew. Have you ever heard of a female pronghorn having horns 5 inches long? That is what I saw the other day and I was suprised. Is that normal or can the get bigger? This one looks more like mountain goat horns as it has no cutters.

Jeanette, I've seen some doe prongs that are 3 inches or so, but 5 IS a little large. Were they joined to the skull? Most does that I've seen have had their horns just sitting atop the skin and would move it you touched them. Maybe you had a San Francisco pronghorn.

When i mount them i cut the horn off at the skull and leave the horn on the fur ,tan it like that too.
Is that how the rest of you guys do it

It is still on the skull. I measure 5 inches following the outside curve. Maybe she was a Frisco doe....
