Boar Pickle

I have a couple of boar heads to do and I was wondering if you have to keep the cape in the pickle any longer than a wt cape? Also do you have to make the pickle itself up any differently. What I do is 5 gallons of water, 5 lbs of salt, and 2 1/2 oz of saftee acid. I keep the PH between 1 and 1.5. Thanks in advance

You pickle a hog cape just like a deer cape. MichelleW


Degrease first!

After salting degrease before you put into a pickle.We use Kemal 4 at a rate of 1 oz. per gallon of water,let sit for 2 hrs. rinse before cape well,pickle 72hrs,thin on machine,pickle 72 hrs,nuetralize,tan
