I was wondering if anyone knows the product that you can inject, put around mammal eyes that makes them appear more real, almost like they are really "floating". At last years Taxidermy Show the man that won told me he uses a clear liquid that comes in a small squeeze bottle to make the eyes look more real. I just can't remember the name of the product.
Thanks

Look at the local craft stores or most of the suppliers stalk it. Other people may have other suggestions. Good luck
I've tinted epoxy resin with just the right amount of burn umber (and other) acrylic paint (very, very, very little...less than 1/2 a drop) with great success. Frighteningly real.
I have done nicitating membranes this way, too.
But with epoxy's, you must do everything right the first time or you will be in a world of hurt.
Joe Coombs carries a product made for that purpose. It comes in a small bottle. For some reason (age?) I can't remember the name of it! But it's in his catalog.
I use Liquid Crystal made by Chem Oddities, the kind that comes in a bottle, not the spray. Using a small brush, I brush that on to get that wet look to the eyes. Great stuff. Coombs' does the same thing, but it comes in a bottle you snip the tip off of, and apply directly from the bottle. And, his is a lot thicker.
Hope that helps.

It's on Coomb's website. http://www.joecoombs.com/cgi-bin/joecoombs.storefront
Thanks to everyone for taking time to respond. I will have to give each method a try. I will try the Coombs fluid for my Comp mount. I know the fluid the other fellow used wasn't from Commbs, but I just need to try something to make my deer look a little more real.
Let us know how you do with it! =)
Around the eyes, not over them...my last post. Gives the transition area between eye and lid a "wet" look. Should have explained this more clearly.
