Do warthogs classify as peccaries / pig family? I assume they do.. and if so they are coverred by CITES and have to enter or leave the US through designated ports. I think theres 5 in the US or something.. one up on the East Coast somewhere... one in Dallas etc...
If thats not it they could be confusing it with CITES laws, but thats what my first guess woudl be in which case - it's legit that it go through one of those designated ports, thgouh they should have caught that earlier and not created these delays for you...
Gerry.......if you are interested in help with your shippment, you can contact me at fishworks@friend.ly.net.......your tusks are what is considered restricted products by the USDA....this has nothing to do with CITIES.....I am an import/export broker, and can set you on track with your clearance....Hrmmmm...raven.....stop guessing at what you think the answer is, and it is clearly obvious, you have know idea what your are talking about
Ya can't just offer advice without getting a lil dig in at me...
Now thats calling the kettle black! you do it all the time waven when someone twists your little nose in your molding section......and since you are the only responder besides myself on this post, and your hrmmmmm amounts to nothing but jibberish, than you better stop winning when someone might just know what they are talking about...I know how you always like to get in the last word on everything, so have the stage, and explain to us all, what is the USDA problem, with Gerry's in bond shippment, and what should he do? I would like to know the facts myself waven
There very well could be USDA laws in effect - I have no idea nor did I ever claim to. I know nothing of USDA laws and have never said I do.
As for CITES... Warthogs are artiodactyla of the family suidae. Some species of those are protected by CITES - some aren't. If warthogs are one that are.. that COULD be a reason for a delay if proper import permits were not in place. Not all delays are caused by CITES, but obviously some are.
No incorrect information was given, nor did I even hint that the information I did give was complete. Gerry asked what could be holding his shipment and I gave him one option. If you want to give him another - that's of course welcome.
The personal dig however served no purpose other than to profess your personal dislike for me. This you have already done to death at nearly every opportunity and I'm sure you will continue to do for as long as you have access to these forums.
Once again I've already wasted more time on you than I would have liked. Have fun...
