Buffalo horn reattachment

How, what do you do with the open gap at the horn base when you remount the horns on a buffalo or an antelope? Do you fill it in or just leave it? THANKS!

After you mount your animal, put the horn cases in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Then shove it on HARD and you'll be surprised how far down it will seat.


On skulls?

Horn Gap

I just leave it. Looks natural. Otherwise, I guess you could fill it and paint it....
