If your talking about the Synchron Eye Capsules from Van Dykes they SUCK! They do not give the eyes a realistic look at all in my opinion. But hey everyone has their own opinion.

Don,

The eye capsules will work for the larger deer but I would refrain from using them on smaller deer. Unless you purchase the Legacy Series from Van Dykes, you will need to use a spade bit for all other forms. You will only achieve one type of eye setting with the capsules. If you are just starting or if you are doing commercial work they will do fine but sometime down the line you are going to learn how to set the eyes in different settings to correspond with different form poses. It is also helpful to enhance the eyelid crease and to fill in the eye socket and back of the eye with clay so that everything fits flush. This will keep the eye tight in the capsule and help to keep a press fit so that when you tuck the eye skin. There are other posts regarding Eye Capsules in the archives as well. Ed.
