Mystery Hair Loss

Submitted by Scott Walburn on 04/05/2004 at 20:11. ( jwalburn@epix.net ) 216.222.239.227

Occasionally I notice that hair is missing from section of a finished mount. The hair was there when it was completed but is not missing.
Upon inspection I can see that the base of each hair is still and that it appears that it has been clipped or eaten by something. There are brownish spots at or near the end of each strand. Can someone tell me if this sounds like a parasite investation and how to eliminate and prevent it.

Thanks, Scott

Scott, You asked this question twice already in the last few days and were given the answer. What's the matter? Don't you believe what the experts have to say?

It may be nothing that wasn't already there and you didn't see it till the hide dried. It's possible that it could be caused by ticks prior to you doing anything.

Sorry about the double entry. I got kind of confused about where I had posted it did not see it when I went back to check on it. I'm all ears on the advice being supplied. Thanks, so much.

Scott
