i completed my third whitetail shoulder mount last week. i had to leave unexpectedly for five days. when i came back the lips have seperated on one side almost a quarter of an inch where they were tucked. can this be fixed with out taking the cape off? i used the search button but did not see this problem. the cape was tanned with krowtan. i would appreciate any help.

Search "lips pulling away" and "lip line gap," "lip line separation..." There's easily 75k in the archives on the subject
and then wrap it with saran wrap or the like overnight the lips should loosen up enough to straighten them out. Also you can pin the lip line and lower the temperature in the room to that the mount doesnt dry as fast.
Works for me.
