Cartilage Liner Question

This is my first time trying the Cartilage liner system and was wondering if you should only use the recommended McKenzie Cartilage liner glue or will any water based epoxy work? I checked the archives and someone even said you can use latex caulk. Is this true? Also what is the best way to attach them to the form? I came from the world of Bondo and ear-base and just wanted a cleaner edge around the ears.

Thanks

I've been using cartilage liners for two years now and am very happy with them. I can't see how bondo is gonna do much for you though. What I do is spray the liner down with thinner and rough it up using my stout ruffer to get a good surface for adhesion. For adhesive, I use any of the various 5-7 minute two part epoxies. Spray the inner ear skin down with laquer thinner to degrease and/ or remove excess water. Blow off excess with air and turn right side out. Mix epoxy and apply to liner. By the time the liner is covered, it's kicking and tacky as hell. Insert, position skin and groom. Then, round the entire periphery of the ear with clips to hold in place until the epoxy sets. Each ear takes me about five minutes. Good luck.
