Moose measurement, need input

I am mounting a shiras in a week or two. In my notes on the measurement from the back of the eye to where bone meets burr is 1.5 inches. This just does not sound right. That measurment is more of an average for a whitetail. What is a realistic average? Somehow maybe I was cross eyed when measuring. Any input would be appreciated as I remember taking the darn measurement. Thank You so very much.

but all you need to do is meaure the tanned skin and see what the distance is!
