after you have pickled a hide can you freeze it

Hello to all
first Let me say I have gone to the search and could not find what I was looking for
what I would like to know IS can you freeze a hide after you have pickled it Or is that a NO NO
I had thought about Just freezing it after It was in the pickle until I was able to get the tanning oil
