Received a set of whitetail antlers from 1961. Besides being very dirty and bone dry (no weight),they are varnished.Any suggestions for restoring.Just will be a skull cap mount. Thanks JD

Use the spray paint stripper or oven cleaner, they'll take the old varnish right off, wash them with soapy water and then they'll be ready to re-stain. I just did 2 sets, worked great.
I put a stiffer wire wheel on it and went to work. Had them all cleaned up in 20 min.
