just got in a nice small deer head yesterday. the guy wants a different set of antlers on it. i have done this before, but this one has been sewed shut ver tightly, and i am afraid that i will have wrinkles or a gap in the hide. any suggestions?

Wolverine I would soften the skull flap with a wet towel and you should be able to get the thread cut easily. Then you can shave the thread wrinkles off the edges. If the skin flap is softened good, you shouldn't have a problem stitching it back up over the new antlers without any bulges or wrinkles in the skin. Also, you can screen and staple it til dries, that'll help keep stitches good and flat.
